Born in Bradenton, Fla. Rissa grew up in the heart of Bradenton on the westside in Rogers Garden Projects. Rissa comes from a close-nit family with several other brothers and sisters. Rissa being the baby girl of the family quickly realized she will not let poverty deter her from the path of chasing her dreams and becoming successful in doing so. Growing up in a ruff era for her was motivation to become successful and want more in life. Growing up in poverty for her was something that's apart of becoming great. It was a humbling experience for her it also helped mold her into the person she is today. Helping her be thankful for the things she did have versus the things she didn't. As a kid she wrote poetry, and as time went on those same poems became raps. It was during those times is where she begin to listen and be inspired by Tupac, B.G. from the hot boys and those around her. It was then when she made her mind up and said if she ever become a rapper it will be one that will give her listeners the good and the bad. During her teen years she and her cousin started a group called "UKG" Unknown Girls. It wasn't till she got grown and pursed her dreams full time and started her own entertainment called Born Starz Entertainment. Which she believes every one is a star. She just feel what star are you? What are you gifted in? What sets her apart from other rappers because she is a female artist who speaks on the truth and real life situations. She's real, raw, and rugged. She's not like your average female.
